Five years ago, Kevin and Rebecca hired me to shoot my very first wedding. I had known the couple for some time, so I decided to do the job as a wedding gift. After all, I had no experience and didn't have the best equipment to work with back then. Luckily the bride and groom weren't looking for anything over the top, just a few pictures of their special day to look back on. So, I did all the research I could do on wedding photography to prepare myself for the day. As I bounced from article to article, I knew I was way in over my head, but it was too late. There was no backing down now. I committed to the job, and I didn't want to let them down.

The day finally arrived, and my anxiety was through the roof. I had to pull myself together, take a deep breath and begin to shoot. The day couldn't have been more beautiful for a wedding: blue skies, lush green landscapes, and the perfect wedding setup, effortlessly elegant. As the day went on, it became easier and easier to take pictures, mainly because the couple's family filled the day with smiles, laughter, and tremendous energy. So much that at times I was drawn into the celebration but reminded myself to focus, or I would miss a moment.

After a long 12 hours or so, the night sadly came to an end. As exhausted as I was, I did it. I shot my first wedding and enjoyed every minute of it. As I drove home, I knew this was something I could see myself doing in the future. Wedding photography was something I wanted to pursue. So, thank you to this lovely couple for taking a chance on me and allowing me to capture your special day. You inspired and motivated me to improve my craft and turn this little hobby into a career.

Here comes the bride!!!

Wouldn’t be a wedding without the “Dollar Dance”.

This family sure can party!!!
